- ➤ Richmond Animal League will host a kitten fostering 101 class on Saturday, April 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. at its Chesterfield location on International Drive—where experts will explain bottle-feeding, socialization and medical care to help prepare foster homes for more kittens during the busy kitten season. 6 News

- ➤ The Richmond Times-Dispatch released the 2025 Top Workplaces results that shine a light on regional employers with high employee ratings, with 91 winners chosen from surveys sent to 42,590 workers. - ➤ Henrico Police arrested 18-year-old Tony Lamont Roberts after a fatal hit-and-run on March 22 just after 2 a.m. near Richmond International Airport resulted in the death of 29-year-old Fernando Cac Caal when a Toyota Yaris and a Cadillac CTS collided following a high-speed pursuit — officers said the Cadillac occupants fled the scene — and Roberts now faces charges including felony hit-and-run. - ➤ Richmond Sheriff Antionette Irving settled a wrongful death lawsuit with the family of Steven Carey, who died from a fentanyl overdose in jail in January 2023, and the judge must still approve the deal. The settlement came five days before another in-custody death at the jail—now under a state corrective action plan. VPM
- ➤ Gov. Glenn Youngkin vetoed proposals for a minimum wage hike and a prescription drug affordability board — he also signed a law that requires adults to wear seat belts in the back seat. Richmond Times-Dispatch
- ➤ A federal program that steered private funds into overlooked communities was threatened by an executive order issued on March 14 that asked the Treasury to justify its cost—its support helped fund loans that created jobs and community resources in Richmond and nearby areas.
