- ➤ Local organizations will launch Dignity on the Go: Mobile Showers on April 2 at 10 a.m. behind Saint Paul’s Baptist Church at 700 E Belt Boulevard to support homeless individuals with mobile showers and extra services such as job search help, health care, grief support and haircuts. 6 News

- ➤ Richmond Police said no arrests were made after a man was shot to death in Whitcomb Court near the 2400 block of Carmine Street Tuesday night (his identity was not released). FOX Richmond
- ➤ On Tuesday night while patrolling near Whitcomb Court, Richmond Police responded to gunshots and found a man fatally shot on the 2400 block of Carmine Street—no arrests have been made. 12 On Your Side
- ➤ Robert Brian Thompson—who worked as a bank examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond—was sentenced Tuesday to 24 months in federal prison for an insider trading scheme. 6 News

- ➤ Richmond magazine launches its 38th annual Best & Worst survey and invites residents to vote for the top and bottom picks in several categories until April 25 at 11:45 p.m. The survey results will be shared in the annual issue coming in August — businesses and organizations are encouraged to use a social media toolkit to prompt votes. - ➤ VCU's Brent Smith, a real estate finance and urban economics professor, was named a Fulbright Specialist as part of the State Department’s exchange program—he will serve on the three-year roster and be matched with international projects. Smith said his humble beginnings in a mobile home park inspire his goal to use his expertise to help disadvantaged communities. Virginia Commonwealth University
- ➤ VCU approved a plan to buy a $300 million research building that will change its research work — a vice president said the new facility will guide the university’s study programs in the future. Richmond Times-Dispatch

- ➤ Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed a bill on Monday to create the Hunger-Free Campus Food Pantry Grant Program that gives $500,000 to colleges and nonprofit schools to run food pantries for students. The law does not force students to prove they need help and extra funds will roll over to next year — schools must show they have an open pantry or a local food bank partner. Virginia Mercury
- ➤ City officials admitted they mailed property tax rebate checks to several thousand residents with incorrect names—director Jamie Atkinson said no personal information was compromised. The city is canceling these checks—new checks with the correct names will be issued soon. 6 News
