- ➤ At the Spider Shop at the University of Richmond today, First Lady Tina Hallock launched her children's book Along Came the Spiders that tells how the school adopted the spider as its mascot—faculty, students and alumni gathered to get signed copies and net proceeds will go toward the University of Richmond Scholarship Fund. - ➤ Classes at the University of Richmond were canceled Sunday night when a snake entered the main power plant and damaged key electrical equipment—restoration will occur gradually with generators arriving soon. The Collegian

- ➤ A new ad campaign to back a constitutional change for reproductive rights is set to launch with billboards near colleges and sidewalk decals in busy spots. The amendment passed the legislature but must be approved again next year during House races when all 100 seats are on the ballot — supporters say it will protect access to care. Virginia Mercury
- ➤ Hanover County may raise pay for its appointed boards and commissions after a staff review found that board members have not received a raise in over a decade—data from 13 localities including Chesterfield and Henrico showed these roles earn more. The finance committee received the recommendations and may consider changes at its May meeting. VPM
