  • A Playground for Katie and Friends reopened Monday in Chesterfield County after $880,000 in renovations that doubled its space and added accessible features for children with and without special needs—new smooth pathways, extra seating, and ADA-compliant equipment now benefit local families.  Richmond Times-Dispatch

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At approximately 10:49 p.m. on April 21, officers responded to a call at South Ninth Street and Semmes Avenue when a motorcyclist lost control and was pronounced dead, and detectives later identified him as Johnson Chen (23, California).  RVAHub

CRIME NEWS

  • A 27-year-old Navy officer Emmanuel Coble was found guilty of killing his pregnant girlfriend Raquiah King in 2022 after he admitted to shooting her in a fight and dumping her body along Winns Church Road in Hanover County; sentencing is scheduled for July.  6 News

  • Jenna Hallinger, a VCU Honors College student passionate about history, will graduate this spring with a degree in history and anthropology and begin working as an archaeologist for the Timmons Group in Richmond—she deepened her skills through a VMFA internship and an archaeological field school in Romania.  Virginia Commonwealth University
