  • Forest Hill’s annual summer concert series kicks off this Sunday, May 11, at 6 p.m. at Forest Hill Park near the Stone House with Brandon Wayne & His Lonesome Drifters performing a free show that will include a special tribute to long-time local resident Anne Shelton.  RVAHub

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Science Museum of Virginia will host the touring exhibition Ultimate Dinosaurs starting May 31 — featuring interactive displays, dozens of fossil specimens and 17 life-size skeletons from global research.   • VCU will celebrate its May commencement on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on 403 N. Third St. + the ceremony will include in-person events that honor over 4,900 graduates, including more than 3,100 undergraduates, with keynote address by Richmond native Everette Taylor.  Virginia Commonwealth University

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting Monday, the FTC will ban hidden fees on concert tickets, hotels, and short-term rentals as Virginia begins its own crackdown on surprise charges. Sen. Stella Pekarsky helped pass the bill that Governor Youngkin signed, and businesses must display full prices by July 1—restoring clear pricing for consumers.  12 On Your Side
  • Five former RPS bus drivers say they were fired after they spoke at a school board meeting on April 8 in defense of overtime pay for after-school routes. The union filed a grievance—lawsuits are planned—and RPS said the drivers broke work rules, a charge the drivers dispute.  Richmond Times-Dispatch

  • The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is hosting special art tours in partnership with VCU's ALS Clinic to help people with ALS and similar motor neuron diseases connect with art and escape isolation.
