EDUCATION NEWS

  • A Virginia Department of Education survey shows that teachers in Richmond earn the highest salaries in the region. Fairfield Court Elementary teachers earn on average $17,100 more than Falling Creek Elementary teachers — a difference linked to contract terms and experience levels.  Richmond Times-Dispatch
  • Nearly 5,000 VCU students celebrated their graduation on Saturday at the Richmond Convention Center, marking the completion of their studies amid a challenging job market—an uncertain time for new graduates.   • Virginia Union University received an $8 million gift from Archbishop E. Bernard Jordan—a distinguished alum—to launch the Jordan Institute of Spiritual Technology and Digital Theology at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology. Warnock will receive an honorary degree.
