- ➤ Centenary United Methodist Church has fed over 100 people every Friday at 10:30 a.m. for decades in Richmond—longtime volunteers like Alvin Richardson and Sparkle Taylor help serve warm meals while the program, partnered with Feed More since 1998, provided over 6,000 meals in 2024. - ➤ In April, more than 200 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities danced at a sold-out prom at Beulah Recreation Center in North Chesterfield—organized by nonprofit Step N Up’s Club1111 RVA. - ➤ Virginia State Police are searching for 18-year-old Malachi Carrington with autism who was last seen on May 10 at 5 p.m. at Fort Gregg-Adams in Prince George County — he may be in a white 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Georgia plates. 6 News
- ➤ Police are investigating after a man was shot several times in Shockoe Bottom—officers responded at 1:30 a.m. to the 1500 block of East Main Street and transported him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 12 On Your Side

- ➤ Today, Richmond City Council meets at 6 p.m. at City Hall to vote on Mayor Danny Avula’s $3 billion spending plan and proposals on property sales, a tennis court project, and a youth program; later this week, Richmond’s Urban Design Committee, Albemarle County Supervisors, Chesterfield County School Board, and Hanover County School Board will hold meetings to review improvement plans, budgets, and school redistricting. These meetings will guide public decisions on city spending and regional development in Central Virginia. VPM
