- ➤ Residents in Richmond received unexpected 2025 second-half real estate tax bills when over 33,000 taxpayer records were incomplete during data transfer so mortgage lenders did not get the bills as usual. The Department of Finance is working with the MUNIS team to fix the issue—if you normally pay your own tax bill, please complete your payment before June 16. 12 On Your Side

- ➤ Virginia governors gathered at VCU on May 17 to mark the 71st anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education—Gov. Glenn Youngkin and several former governors called for ongoing progress while former Gov. Doug Wilder boycotted the event, saying he is dismayed by the state’s fading focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.
