- ➤ Hope for Learning, which has spent five years giving reading materials and supplies to elementary students in Title I schools, is launching a campaign called Hope on Wheels — the nonprofit aims to raise $125,000 to buy one or two vans so it can deliver food, clothing, books, and school supplies to families in need. It will also host its fifth annual charity 5K at Midlothian Mines Park on June 7th. 6 News

- ➤ Richmond’s historic Byrd Theatre began its final phase Monday of a years-long seat replacement project by removing side-section seats to install updated, wider seating. The theatre is a Virginia Historic Landmark on the National Register and is upgrading its Carytown venue. 6 News

- ➤ Government officials are fixing an error that sent tax bills for the second half of 2025 to thousands of residents when the bills should have gone to a lending company—corrections will be made and the proper bills issued soon. 12 On Your Side
- ➤ Sabrina Joy-Hogg will leave her job as Richmond's top city administrator on June 6 and will start a senior finance and administration role in Newport News on June 16—she worked at City Hall for five months. City officials said they will fill her roles with temporary appointments in the coming weeks. VPM
- ➤ Drivers speeding past Frances W. McClenney Elementary School received over 7,000 citations in six months as cameras caught drivers going at least 11 mph above the 25 mph school-hour limit on the 3800 block of Chamberlayne Avenue. Richmond Police hired part-time reviewers for the footage and a future law will allow retired officers to help — officials hope this measure will improve safety. Richmond Magazine

- ➤ VCU Health held a ground-breaking ceremony for its $89.9 million, four-story Chesterfield Pavilion near Iron Bridge and Beach roads.
