- ➤ A man was shot and critically injured late Saturday night on the 2400 block of Vicki Court and taken to a local hospital, police said, while investigators continue to search for a suspect (wearing a face mask, gray pants and a black coat). 6 News

- ➤ Richmond muralist Mickael Broth painted 'Not for sale' over his The Witch mural outside Padel Planet on Saturday after a dispute with the venue's owners. Richmond Times-Dispatch
- ➤ Richmond Symphony and its youth orchestra performed a free outdoor concert during the holiday weekend on Saturday evening, drawing a large crowd to enjoy classical favorites. Over 100 musicians performed under the stars — local residents filled the park with blankets and chairs to watch the show. 6 News
- ➤ In 1932, the bells of the tall Virginia War Memorial Carillon in Byrd Park rang to honor 3,700 Virginians lost in World War I—thousands heard the sound that day. The project took eight years to complete—after long talks on how to build the tower. Richmond Times-Dispatch
- ➤ Retired pilot Tim Heath and his family traveled to Slavičín in the Czech Republic last August to honor World War II airmen, including his uncle 2nd Lt. Theo Heath who died on Aug. 29 — the commemoration featured wreaths, a new headstone, and the playing of national anthems by local Czech and Slovak residents — showing the lasting impact of their sacrifice.
