- ➤ Chesterfield Police said a man was killed after an SUV struck him while he crossed Hull Street Road on Friday night—eastbound lanes between Courthouse Road and Price Club Boulevard were closed as investigators looked into the crash. 6 News

- ➤ Weidmüller USA held a grand opening for its new $10 million engineering and production facility at 821 Southlake Blvd in Chesterfield on Wednesday — the 24,000-square-foot expansion boosts its campus to 150,000 square feet and will add 100 jobs. Richmond Times-Dispatch

- ➤ Richmond police responded to a shooting on the 3400 block of Chamberlayne Avenue at 12:22 a.m. on June 13 and found a man with a gunshot wound (he has life-threatening injuries) who was taken to a hospital (major crimes detectives are investigating the case). 6 News

- ➤ Mayor Danny Avula has formed a new 15-member advisory board to guide the administration on arts and culture challenges — the group includes local artists, musicians, nonprofit leaders and city officials. The board will offer direct input on ways to support Richmond's creative community. 6 News

- ➤ Lucille Brown, the second Black superintendent of Richmond Public Schools and a pioneer who began her career during segregation, died last week at age 96. She worked as a teacher, principal and leader in education and is honored by the middle school that bears her name—reflecting a lifelong commitment to her community. Richmond Times-Dispatch

- ➤ The Virginia Treasurer is sending notices to Virginians as the state treasury returns over $3.8 billion in unclaimed property under the new CASH NOW Act. Checks will be mailed six weeks after notification for claims of $5,000 or less while businesses and nonprofits must file a claim manually. 6 News

- ➤ Henrico Fire Battalion Chief Doug Reynolds (who expects the upper 80s temperature) warned residents that those with preexisting conditions should stay indoors in air conditioning this weekend.
