  • The 4th Annual Jubilation in June Festival took place at Midtown Green on June 19 at 5 p.m. after city officials announced a change of venue from Intermediate Terminal on June 8; the festival featured DJ Rayvon, a Sister Rosetta Tharpe tribute, line dancing, and Grammy nominated R&B singer Carl Thomas with a fireworks show.  RVAHub

  • On Thursday morning, dozens gathered on the campus of Virginia Union University to mark the 135th anniversary of Juneteenth with song, dance, and spoken word performances that connected them with personal history and honored freedom.  6 News
  • A Juneteenth commemoration in Richmond brought descendants of enslaved people and those of slave owners together for a panel discussion that explored their shared history and initiated healing—organizers said the event marked the start of a movement toward lasting reconciliation.  6 News

  • Richmond residents used ranked choice voting to pick 33 projects from a $3 million fund set for fiscal year 2026. The vote—open to those 14 and older and drawing over 5,000 participants—selected projects like bus stop upgrades, tree plantings and pedestrian safety improvements to be done in two years.  Richmond Magazine
  • A draft report reveals that Richmond's finance department wrote off over $3 million in business tax credits without informing business owners, prompting new city rules for refund notifications. An ongoing audit will check for unreturned credits — officials say affected account holders will be notified within 90 days after the review ends.  6 News
