CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Lindsey Grizzard Braun died in a fatal car crash on July 31 when her car was hit by a speeding driver in Richmond—her mother, a former probation officer, contended that the justice system failed her daughter by not keeping violent offenders off the streets and noted that the driver, who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, received a 10-year sentence with five years suspended. 6 News

- ➤ Richmond Free Press photojournalists Regina Boone and Sandra Sellars have opened a powerful exhibition at Branch Museum that shows photos of the 2020 protests—Reframing Protest NOW: Design + Hope displays images from over 60 consecutive days on the streets. - ➤ VCU’s Center for Human Simulation and Patient Safety uses trained actors to act as patients so medical students can practice exam and talking skills—helping them learn to care for patients in a clear and kind way.
