- ➤ City officials announced Friday that Tanikia Jackson was named City Hall's next deputy chief administrative officer for finance and administration — her appointment will strengthen the city's fiscal leadership. Richmond Times-Dispatch
- ➤ Riverside Regional Jail has improved since Colonel Jeffrey N. Dillman became administrator in October and started new addiction recovery programs and a violence prevention initiative, with only one inmate death recorded in 2025. The jail recorded fewer assaults and will begin giving Narcan to high-risk inmates on August 1—actions that aim to cut booking delays and fill vacant beds—while serving seven local counties.
