- ➤ On Wednesday morning, ICE agents raided Southwood Apartments in South Richmond and residents said a young man was forcibly taken from his Honda Civic—police confirmed his removal in response to a missing person report—and local officials condemned the raid as a terrorizing tactic. VPM

- ➤ Two new exhibits at the Branch Museum of Design highlight very different styles of two-wheeled design—one display lets visitors sit on a custom motorcycle used in a TV show and the other presents vintage Vespa models along with a limited-edition release; both exhibits run through Aug. 31. - ➤ Last week, the Virginia DMV and the City of Richmond unveiled a 54-foot bright yellow ladder by The Diamond to show that a pedestrian struck by a 40 mph car suffers an impact like falling from a five-story building—officials stress that speeding contributed to over 400 traffic deaths in Virginia last year. - ➤ U.S. Rep. Jennifer McClellan challenged Gov. Youngkin's claim that all 2,500 immigrants detained since March are violent offenders—she said officials must show proof for each case to protect due process and local trust. - ➤ The City of Richmond will roll out an advanced traffic signal system this fall — the new system uses Econolite Centracs Priority software to let buses and emergency vehicles communicate with traffic signals in real time. - ➤ Virginia lawmakers met last week to study whether to change the election schedule and hold votes on even years—a shift that could affect how many people vote and how campaigns are run.
