  • Karen G. Palma Martinez, 27, now faces a DUI manslaughter charge in a hit-and-run that killed 27-year-old Krystal T. Parker on Aug. 10 — a charge added after the fatal incident — as authorities continue reviewing the case.  12 On Your Side

  • AAA expert Morgan Dean offers safety tips to parents and students preparing for school — he advises walking together to bus stops on sidewalks, teaching kids to look both ways before crossing, and urging older students to put phones away to stay alert.  6 News
  • Over 1,000 pairs of new sneakers were given to Richmond students on August 16 during an annual free shoe event hosted by local synagogues and churches—volunteers measured each child's foot and let them choose a pair. Leftover shoes will be donated to Title One schools.  12 On Your Side

  • Data shows that out of nearly 1,000 short-term rentals in Richmond, only 96 have or are working for the required permits.
