- ➤ Baltik’s Bagel, the South Richmond shop known for its inventive recipes, has been invited as the only Virginia entrant to BagelFest 2025—an international contest held at Citi Field’s Heineken Diamond Lounge in New York from Nov. 14 to 16. The shop, one of 25 chosen from around the world, will showcase its signature bagels and schmears at the event. RVAHub
- ➤ Paige Lanier Chargois, a Richmond reverend, author & activist for racial reconciliation and social change, died July 27 at 81. Her funeral is set for Saturday, Aug. 23 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church as her work in community service left a lasting legacy. Richmond Free Press

- ➤ A teen was arrested and charged in a homicide case after officers responded at 1 a.m. on New Year’s Day to a reported car crash on the 14900 block of Broadwater Way in Chesterfield. 12 On Your Side
- ➤ A man suffered serious injuries in a shooting along Meadowdale Boulevard in North Chesterfield on Thursday night (10 p.m.) and police have not named any suspects or made any arrests. 6 News
- ➤ RPD said that on Aug 20 at about 5:45 a.m.—while executing a search warrant at Belt Atlantic Apartments on Midlothian Turnpike—gunshots were fired from inside the building and a 16-year-old with gunshot wounds, believed to be self-inflicted, was found while two youths were detained for questioning. 12 On Your Side
