- ➤ Richmond police responded at 8:52 a.m. Saturday to a call at the 1900 block of Sussex Street in the East End where they found an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene—authorities are investigating and the medical examiner will determine the cause. - ➤ Chesterfield Fire Marshal’s Office on Friday arrested Jecoby Anderson, 47, for his alleged role in a fire on the 3200 block of Tanners Way that broke out Thursday at 10:45 a.m.—he faces charges of burning an occupied dwelling and breaking and entering with intent to commit arson. - ➤ Virginia law enforcement agencies will conduct over 700 saturation patrols and 86 sobriety checkpoints during Labor Day weekend to address an 8.5% increase in alcohol-related deaths last year—113 patrols and 24 checkpoints are planned near Richmond. 6 News
- ➤ On Wednesday, Hanover sheriff's deputies executed search warrants at six Hanover and two Henrico locations linked to 3 Stars Vape and Tobacco and Habibi Vape and Tobacco (seizing over $100K in cash, more than 20 pounds of marijuana, and related paraphernalia) and arrested five individuals on felony charges.
