- ➤ The 3rd Annual Florence Neal Cooper Smith 5K Walk for Sickle Cell was held Saturday at Dorey Park in Henrico to raise funds and awareness for research on a disease that affects many African Americans. The event honored Florence Neal Cooper Smith and funded a research professorship—supporting efforts to find a cure. 6 News

- ➤ Yesterday the second annual Richmond International Dance Festival was held at Deep Run Park to celebrate the many cultures in our city. The event brought dance groups and food vendors together — organizers said it showed Richmond's diverse traditions — and helped build strong community ties. 6 News
