EDUCATION NEWS

  • Virginia Commonwealth University College of Engineering launched a new power systems engineering track in partnership with Dominion Energy that offers lab work, internships, and design projects for electrical and computer engineering students—aiming to fill the growing need for skilled power engineers. The program began in spring with courses taught by Dominion engineers and expands this fall with additional classes, supported by a $1 million gift.  Virginia Commonwealth University

  • Historic Hotels of Richmond—led by Bill Goodwin—will begin a multimillion-dollar project to convert the century-old Second Baptist Church at 13 W. Franklin St. near The Jefferson Hotel into a banquet hall with a commercial kitchen.  6 News
