- ➤ Tavares Floyd, whose 2024 City Council run raised questions about his campaign filings, was indicted Monday on four counts of felony election fraud by a Richmond grand jury—prosecutors said he made false statements on his campaign documents and if convicted he could face up to 40 years in prison. - ➤ ICA Cafe at the Institute for Contemporary Art launched a six-month chef residency series on Oct. 5 when Santana Hem began curating special dining events featuring his Cambodian American cuisine for the museum eatery. - ➤ Richmond Mayor Avula sent a letter to Governor Youngkin asking for $80 million over the next two fiscal years to improve the city’s waterworks after January’s water crisis — residents hope the funding will help prevent another emergency and rising utility bills. 6 News
- ➤ Mayor Danny Avula announced that four new members were added to the Zoning Advisory Council, expanding the panel from 17 to 21 members in response to resident calls for broader input — the Planning Commission approved the change Tuesday to address gaps in district representation amid Richmond’s housing crisis.
